Powers: Phil has the ability to manipulate Water telekinetically. He can form it into shapes, or use it as a weapon by encasing his enemy in a sphere of water and drowning them, forming a whip that he can use to either hit his opponent or tie them up . He can Cause small title waves, with enough force to erode many surfaces or knock back his enemies/opponents or make a wall of water to act as a shield. He can also transform himself into a Merman at will with no need to come up for air.

Even though it doesn't count as a power, he is highly skilled in hand to hand combat thanks to his many years in Mixed Martial arts.

Weaknesses: He can not manipulate water for a long period of time, if he does he gets light headed, and at times has fainted. His power does not work without a water source present. He can only breathe under water in merman form. His powers of manipulating water is limited depending on how many times he uses it, or if he uses it for too long. He can be a showman with his powers making many different shapes but the bigger the shape the more energy it takes. the power of erosion works only on soluble surfaces like dirt, some rocks etc. But does not work on metals unless the metal can be rusted But can be strong enough to break through certain walls. with his water powers He can not make complicated shapes like keys or other more intricate items.

History: Philip is a demi-god son of Pontus God of the Sea and Serena a Mortal Pontus had fallen in love with from Spain. However Serena did not share his love and no matter how hard he tried she would not give into him. So one day when Serena was out with her family at a hidden swimming hole on her familie's land. She was attacked and raped by an unknown man. The search went on and on but to no avail thay could not find the man anywehere. 9 months later Philip was born.

He was a bright child and energetic always loving to play in the water. So much that he joined his schools swim team and won multiple metals. In fact he loved the water so much his Uncle used to call him "Flipper" He was on the honor roll up until his junior year, He had become rebelious. Since he was acting out his family thought they would put him in Mixed Martial Arts to help focus him and bring him back to a more grounded state. All seemed well he even won some competitions. But one day he didn't show up home after school, with no call or notice. It wasn't by choice he was some how transported somewhere finding himself with a group of people and taking on a large griffin. He had no clue how, but he found himself controlling water. Using it as a weapon to fight the beast. After defeating it they all hid out in Sidney Australia in Morgan's home. Although he appreciates the sanctuary, being cooped up with all those people gets a bit annoying Only Child Syndrome. Which makes him a bit irritable. He was swimming in Morgan's back yard to clear his head. When he suddenly began to panic his legs got stuck together and his trunks broke. taking the place of his skin teal scales and his feet were matching fins. He became a mer man.

But with great power comes great responcibility. Little did he know he would be taking on the Greek Gods. Now he works on bettering his fighting ability as well as his powers in hopes to one day be a formidable warrior to help defend mankind against the wrath of the Gods. With the help of his new friends he had hope and faith that they would succeed.

Sneaking out of Morgan's house Phil looked around to make sure the coast was clear. Letting out a deep breathe of relief, he got up and sprinted away from the house and made his way to a beach. It was empty since it was rather early, looking around again he stripped off his clothing and folded it placing it on a rock. Blame it on his OCD.

Turning to face the water he smiled feeling the cool mist from the crahing waves. Unable to restrain himself anymore he sprinted into the water. Hopping over a crahsing wave he ran through the water then Dove under a towering wave. As his body hit the water. A bright blue light engulfed his body. His legs seemed to mend together and where his skins once was, was replaced by scales and a fin. Opening his green eyes he smiled looking around his watery surroundings. kicking his tail up and down he swam through the water with great speed, enjoying his reclaimed freedom.

With a playful smile he swam up to the surface andmade a huge pillar of water break through and reach up high. He swam through the pillar and dove through the very top and flipped diving back into the water. He laughed happy to be once again frolicing in the water. He swam to the shore and once again glowed a bright blue light as his fin disappeared he walked to the rock where his clothing was got dressed. Walking back to the house, looking up at the blazing sun he couldn't help but smile. "That was refreshing" The young boy said with a spanish accent. He then climbed back into the window and snuck into his bed.

Hey cam, I’m psyched you decided to join, however there are a few problems with your app which I’m going to need you to fix up.

First off, your powers. You need a little more description as to what exactly you can do telekinetically with the water. What sort of shapes can he form? Are they limited to only simplistic things like a whip as opposed to being able to form key to open doors? How much water can he control at a time? Is it harder to lift water into the air with his mind, then to simply push it along the ground as a wave? How long can he keep water levitated? Etc. basically we need some more specific detail so we know how you intend on Phil using his powers in the rp.

As for the tidal waves, even the large scale ones cannot erode every surface. Please change this to be more realistic. Eg, it erodes soil and dirt very quickly, however steel pipes and brick walls can be more problematic. Time should be a factor in this power, as it takes time to erode substances. Dirt will probably be gone in a matter for minutes, but bricks probably days.

Phillip is a descendant of Pontus who was the original God of the sea, however he did not have the powers associated with Poseidon. Ie, was not a merman. Therefore there is no logical reason why Phillip should have a fish tail. Likewise, there is no reason why he should have super strength. If you can argue your case about the tail and convince me that Phil should have it, then you may be allowed to keep it. The strength however must go.

Your weaknesses will need to be edited according to the requests I have made above. As well, you may want to change the incredible speed under water to simply being a very good swimmer.

The history, well, that’s why it’s taken me so long to reply. I’m still not sure Pontus should be the father. However, since there is nothing preventing that from being the case I’m going to let you have it. It is worth noting however that, contrary to a policy I’m going to be implementing once originals are welcomed to the site, Phillip’s powers would not be more powerful than the other heroes due to his blood being more potent. Rather they should remain equals.

Also, the heroes are not hiding out in Sydney, rather they are taking refuge whilst they try and figure out what is going on and controlling their powers. Phil is free to go swimming at the beach whenever he wants.

Furthermore, who tells Phil about his father when his legs get stuck together? The only other people in Sydney are the other heroes. The only person who might have some idea would be Greg, but he can only see the future, not the past so that probably rules him out. Phil should know he is descendant from Pontus, for Greg saw that and told the heroes who they were descendant from in Johannesburg. However no one could know how far back the lineage lies. So Phil could probably guess that the man who raped his mother was Pontus, but there would be no way to prove it… yet.

For the other important relatives, I again point out that Phil is descendant from Pontus not Poseidon. You don’t to change anything, just know that Pontus was one of the Titans, not the Olympians.

You’ll need to edit your dislikes, fears, and personality in keeping with no merman form, unless you convince me otherwise.

And I believe that’s it. Make the necessary changes within 2 weeks from this post or your application shall be moved to the denied section and the Phillip canon position opened again.

arguement for merman powers I WANT IT!!! LOL no, it's because Pontus was never fully seen and when he did appear he was only seen from the waist up never fully exiting the water. So it could be argued that he infact may have had a mertail since he was never fully exposed. Plus as the original god of the sea etc. He had full dominion over the creatures aswell, therefor him having a son with a mortal could infact give just cause that he might be a merman, since fish are part of his creation mixing with the human dna equals haf fish half human. -crosses fingers that that works.-


Now to work on the other edits. Oh and the telling of my dad being pontus was supposed to have been removed when i re-edited my bio. OOPS Void that.

I just have one little question about his powers: Does he have to be near a water source to use them? (ie: pond, creek, stream, lake, ocean) or can he pull the moisture out of the air on the assumption they're not in a completely aired area like the Sahara?

Pontus is NOT Poseidon. Your inherited control is over the dominion of the oceans and water, earthquakes have absolutely nothing to do with that and are a power granted only to Poseidon, and on this site this power has in fact been removed from the God so as to make any fights that happen a tad more fair. By fair i mean the heroes don't all get wiped out by one guy snapping his fingers. Nowhere was it mentioned that Pontus had power over earthquakes in any of the reading i have done on him, therefore you must remove that power before i can approve you, and please refrain from replacing it with another power set Philip should not have. Being able to control water, create small tsunamis, turn into a merman, and breath underwater is more than enough power for your charrie to kick a lot of people's ass. And as it is, i am still not comfortable with the merman thing, however your argument was valid so i am willing to allow it provided you play it well.

As for your hand to hand combat skills and trident use, you need to explain where Phil gained these skills. This is NOT a Percy Jackson rp. Demi-Gods and Demi-Titans do not inherit fighting skills, nor can they read Greek. As such, for Phil to be so proficient in fighting, he must of had training when he was younger such as karate lessons. As for the Trident, i'm fairly certain there are no place you can go to learn to wield that weapon, so unless it's something Phil's been playing with since he was a kid (you'll need a good reason aside from 'he felt drawn to it' cause that would only make sense if he was descendant from Poseidon, which he is NOT.) then he should probably only now be learning to use it, perhaps finding having that weapon helps channel his powers.

Again, i point out that Phil is not trapped in Sydney. He is free to do as he pleases. They are simply staying here because they needed time to regroup after Johannesburg and come to terms with their powers, without the threat of another Griffin attacking them.

These are just little things you need to fix up, and your app for the most part is good. Just edit these things then reply to let me know.
