Occupation: High-School Student
Place of Birth: Valdez, Alaska
History: Taylor was born to Xander Holland and Rachael O’Bryen. She is the only child the couple had together as her parents split when she was two, though there are rumors she wasn’t Xander’s in the first place. She has a half-brother named DJ who is three years younger than her from Rachel’s second and current relationship.
Despite the messy split, Xander was considered the primary care-giver for Taylor, as she reminded Rachel far too much of her ex-boyfriend of ten years. With a male as her main role-model, Taylor feel into the roll of “being one of the boys” and spent more time rough housing and being a tom-boy than Rachel would have liked despite the strained mother-daughter relationship already in place. Unable to find evidence that Xander was a bad influence however; she had to sit back and deal with the way her daughter was growing up though she didn’t suffer quietly. Any time Taylor came into the house with any hint of dirt on her person, her mother would throw a tantrum and then whine about why should couldn’t have a “regular” daughter. The older Taylor got, the more she wondered why her mother lived in such a remote and ‘dirty’ place as Valdez, Alaska.
Around the age of eight, Xander started taking Taylor hunting, teaching her how to survive in the wild and camp. He had offered to take DJ camping as well, as the boy was five but both David and Rachel strongly declined and said DJ was far too delicate for such barbaric events. Undeterred to teach his daughter how to survive through life and how camping and hunting skills could be used in real life applications, he would take her out to what would become their favourite spot at random points through-out the year, including in the middle of winter for snow camping and ice fishing on the hidden lakes.
By the time she was ten, she was able to shoot .22’s with little effort and when she wasn’t pestering to be taken to a shooting range (since she could only go with her father), she was pestering for guitar lessons which her mother was happy to pay for, since it seemed that her daughter was at least doing something somewhat normal. Taylor showed great promise in her musical talents and her mother tried shipping her to Maryland to attend the school of arts there however both Xander and Taylor protested and kaboshed that plan.
Forming a small local band with a couple of her older guy friends, Taylor started skipping school to practice. It was one night after sneaking out at the age of 13 to hang out with the 17 year old boys that Taylor’s life started to turn upside down. Having snuck out to a bush party, she had her first experience with alcohol and witnessed her first trauma: the death of her best friend and drummer. With the death of her friend came the death of the band that had been playing at the park every summer for three years and while she started attending school regularly again, she was unable to focus on what was going on around her and had even started lashing out at those around her. Her therapist said it was because she wouldn’t let herself mourn properly which only worsened her situation. Her mother wasn’t in the least bit caring or understanding about her situation, bitching about how her daughter had wasted money on guitar lessons and guitars that she was no longer playing. Her father tried to console and help Taylor through it but was unable to reach the withdrawn teenager.
During one of their annual hunting trips when she was fifteen, Xander died at the claws of a mountain lion protecting his oblivious daughter. Being in the middle of no-where with no cellphones let alone cell reception, Taylor was able to kill the giant cat with a single shot but the damage was done. Sitting on the frozen trail, she stayed with her father until the last of his breath was gone, making two promises to him: that she would allow herself the ability to mourn and move on, and that she would start playing guitar again as it had been one of his favourite things to do, listen to her band.
Although she wouldn’t admit it to anyone, she was sure she had heard the giant cat creeping up on them but having been in such a foul mood for so long, she hadn’t cared if she died. It was then that she started noticing changes around her, affecting her directly. These new and heightened senses brought on a sense of secrecy and fear to Taylor though she started working with them, testing to see what they were. To help her fulfill her promise to move on, she had enrolled in a mixed martial arts club that several others from the band had joined to help release their anger and frustration at having been helpless when their friend died.
A year and a half later, her family decided to move and get away from all that was disastrous in their lives and away from the cold to Wichita Kansas. Her mother claimed it was for the best that Taylor get pulled away from all the death, though Rachel will readily point a finger saying she killed her father. Plus David’s family lived in the area and if Taylor was lucky she could get in a scholarship at Newman University on top of her early high school graduation. Upon moving to Kanas and finishing her required high school courses through home-schooling on the drive down, Rachel enrolled her daughter for University Prep starting the September they arrived. School is just starting and already Taylor has a strong sense of dislike for the city and environment, feeling far too out of place in a school with people a lot older than her and the city life she has to deal with.

Detailed:
Taylor & Rachel: The two don’t get along at all. Despite being mother and daughter they have very different views and opinions on how things should be done. Rachel is a red haired, green eyed materialistic Barbie who would rather blow her life savings on pointless items than invest. Taylor is free spirited and out-spoken compared to her mother and loves to get down and dirty with the guys.
Taylor & Xander: Taylor was daddy’s little princess until his untimely passing. They were nearly inserpeable despite the attempts by Rachel to keep Xander as far away from his daughter as possible. She is her father’s daughter in every possible way from loving the outdoors to being musically and athletically talented.
Taylor & David: They get along better than she does with her mother, though David tries to be more of the friend than a father figure to Taylor, understanding how close she was with Xander. He often plays middle-man during the screaming matches the two women get into over the smallest things and is happy to help Taylor any way he can.
Taylor & DJ: Get along relatively well, though act more like distant cousins that brother and sister even given their close proximity to each other. They have little in common other than the occasional television show or new-age music group.

Quirks & Habits:
Secrets: Blames herself for her father’s death
Goals: Be a nature/wilderness guide in Yukon and Alaska
Personality: Although she doesn’t look it, Taylor loves the outdoors. She spends as much time as possible outside, playing sports, tanning, playing guitar. Basically if it can be done outside, she’s done it at least once. There are few things that can hold her attention for long outside of music and being surrounded by wilderness. Easily distracted or bored, she has a hard time sitting in one play for any length of time, even in class … which may be the reason why she’s being home-schooled now. She has however been practicing various martial arts in her spare time to work on her ability to focus and discipline herself.
It’s fair to say she has always had a natural talent at tracking when hunting with her dad that the Gods seemed to enhance upon awaking her powers, a fact that can make her seem very arrogant and overconfident in herself. However, this attitude and her current lack of patience when others are in her tracking group are partially due to the overwhelming feeling of guilt she carries in regards to her father’s death. She blames herself and her inability to warn her father of the stalking wildcat in time.
Taylor is a generally open person and loves to have fun and considers herself strongly to be an individual, which goes against her mission to do as Zeus commands but doesn’t dare question the higher ups quite yet. She isn’t stupid and can be quite sneaky and strategic though that isn’t to say she’ll use people to get what she wants, as that isn’t the case at all. She hates people that try to take advantage of others for their own gains and is happy to make them her targets.

Role Play Sample:
Taylor stared at the building in front of her and swallowed heavily. It was huge, and her mother just up and enrolled her into some program she probably wouldn’t even enjoy. Leave it to Rachel to pawn off her daughter (and her “issues”) first chance she got to whoever would take the blond haired teenager. “Maybe graduating high school early wasn’t such a wise idea.” She muttered under her breath, as students moved around her and her family, most seeming to know where they were going already.
“Non-sense Taylor! Stop being ungrateful and help move your stuff up to your dorm room.” Her mother’s voice screeched against Taylor’s ear drums as she spoke with her ‘hurry up and stop wasting my time’ tone of voice.
Grabbing some of her bags, she purposely bumped her mother with one as she backed away from the truck and headed towards the entrance to her dormitory. She was undoubtedly the younger person that was going to be in any of her classes, having finished her high school credits earlier over the summer. Home schooling had probably been the best thing Rachel had ever done for Taylor short of getting her guitar lessons, though having David been the one to moderate her had been a particularly large blessing. Now, she was here, at university at the age of seventeen in a totally different city and state than her home had been, but only three hours away from her family. Don’t stress about it, this is a good chance for you to get away from the harpy. She thought to herself as she pushed open the door to her particular room. Inside was empty and she could only assume her roommate hadn’t arrived yet. Excellent, first choices.
“Hopefully she doesn’t mind your snoring.” DJ’s voice piped up from the door way behind the blond girl, a cheeky grin on the young kids face. “This looks like it’s bigger than that camper you used to go out in, so it shouldn’t be to bad for ya right.” He teased, setting her boxes down on the floor once Taylor had moved to let him in.
“You’re such a dweeb DJ. I’m surprised you aren’t oogling the college girls.” She snapped back, setting her bags down on the bed she had decided on. This was going to be a long ass day. Not that she had much stuff: clothes, bedding, computer stuff, guitar, amp and her bow & arrow set. She was pretty sure her bow and arrows would be considered weapons if anyone else found them so she’d keep those well hidden from anyone who may stumble across them. No, what was going to make the day long was the unpacking, the organizing … the getting things out of the car so her mother could get out of her hair and stop being a bitch.
Surprisingly, it hadn’t taken long at all for Taylor’s stuff to be dumped into her room and left to her own devices with a credit card David gave her. “You know, for food and school stuff.” He had said that last bit with a wink, like he knew something she didn’t. After her first experience with alcohol, Taylor hadn’t touched a drop since (not that it was hard to avoid for a minor). “Guess I’ll unpack later. I need something to eat.” She grumbled, having not had a chance to eat yet that day and figured it would give her a chance to test out just how good her powers were at finding her way around an uknknown place.
